Covid-19.

A thing…”that shall live in infamy.” I must borrow this from FDR as I can think of nothing else that better describes the effect of this viral thing on the world…as well as on those of the OCD persuasion. Can you believe it? A situation made especially for obsessive hand washers and germaphobes everywhere. Hand sanitizer by every entry door, masks, too! And, don’t forget to spray your shoes and leave them behind! Weren’t we lucky? The ones who really got the short end here were the school kids learning remotely as well as the parents who had to juggle the remote learning , working (from home or in person) as well as all the other responsibilities of family life. Whew!
Meanwhile, we shunned everyone who wouldn’t abide by the rules.
RULE 1. No hugging. We could fist bump, elbow bump or fanny bump, but get your arms away from me!

RULE 2. Face masks. Wear them in public places and around anyone indoors who was immunocompromised… or who refused to wear one
RULE 3. Sit or stand 6 feet apart. This rule made for very long lines as well as difficulty for those with hearing loss.
And… just when we thought all was going well ( Except for those 900,000 poor souls in the US) here come the Delta and then the Omicron variants. Now it’s back to the rulebook!
Oh…..and one more rule.

RULE 4. Vaccinate. I will not open up a discussion or debate on this one.
Stay Safe Out There!
